Spanish report: voluntary work                                        

Who is a voluntary:
Person who dedicate part of his time to a solidarity action, usually, without payment. Most of the activities done by the volunteers have as aim to stop and prevent social wrong situations.
Some of the main reasons behind this decision:
1. Ideological, religious, ethic reasons
2. For personal reasons: to be useful to the other, know and live new experiences, self development, friendship, ...
3. Professional reasons: it is a very positive background to have worked as volunteer and is very positive appreciate by the enterprise, because it is supposed that the candidate is able, not only to work but to collaborate with the other and have other interest

SPANISH SITUATION:
There are several laws related to the theme at national level:
1. Ley 6/1996, de 15 de enero, del Voluntariado
2. Plan Estatal del Voluntariado 2001-2004
3. Ley 23/1998, de 7 de julio, de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo
Local level
There is a training in Madrid http://www.munimadrid.es/escuelavoluntariado/  that provide a basic training for volunteers during 8 hours. The content of the programme is

Autonomous level:
The Council of Family and Social Affairs of the Madrid Autonomy has also a training programme http://www2.madrid.org/volu_pub/menu5/menu.htm

VALIDATION:
Most of the organizations provide at least some basic training and if the voluntary ask for a Certificate they provide it, but it is just a document to be added to his/her portfolio.
There is not any official validation
